Ninth Bahrain Farmers’ Market sees high turnout of local, GCC visitors | THE DAILY TRIBUNE | KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

The ninth edition of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market is witnessing a high turnout of visitors from Bahrain and GCC countries, said the Organising Committee' chairman and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdulkarim. He pointed out that the massive turnout confirms the distinguished status of the market, which has evolved into a regional event. He affirmed the organising committee’s commitment to implementing the directives of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus, as entry is restricted to holders of the green shield in the BeAware app, in addition to the mandatory wearing of face masks and social distancing. He added that the market provides a platform for Bahraini farmers to showcase and market their products in an attractive agricultural incubator and a civilised manner aimed at achieving the national goals of developing the agricultural sector and consolidating the kingdom’s food security. This year’s Farmers’ Market features several sections for farmers, nurseries and agricultural companies, in addition to a section for productive families, a corner for dates and another for honey. The ninth edition also features a special exhibition for Bahrain’s agricultural heritage, showcasing agricultural machines that were used in the past
