Delhi-Lahori Night food fest unites people from across borders



Muscat – Mouth-watering dishes from India and Pakistan took centre stage at Sheraton Oman Hotel at the Delhi-Lahori Night promotional event launched on Wednesday. Signature gastronomical delights from the two cities – more than 50 snacks, beverages, starters, street food, main courses and desserts – will be available every second and third Wednesday of the month at the hotel.

Bright lights and lively Bollywood numbers, starting from the 1960s to the current heartthrob Arijit Singh, added to the mix of tantalising aromas filling the air from the live stations. Displays of red, green and yellow spices added to the colourful evening as chefs and waitresses decked in Indian attire introduced the dishes to guests.

Chef Adil Khan, executive chef of the hotel, said, “Our team of chefs has prepared some of the most popular dishes from Delhi and Lahore that people here will enjoy. Besides fresh ingredients and spices, we have also re-created a street look in our courtyard that gives a feel of the galis (lanes) of the two culturally rich cities. The ambiance, with hanging lights, live music and costumed staff, captures the feel of these cities.”
