SDRP Step up Efforts Exerted to Rehabilitate Aden Int’l Airport

Aden, Jan O1, 2021, SPA -- The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRP) formed a team to find out damages done to Aden International Airport, in coordination with the Yemeni government, the local authorities, in the governorate, and the administration of the airport, following the attack that occurred the moment members of the new Yemeni government, arrived in the interim capital.

An engineering team affiliated with the SDRP was urgently present within 24 hours of the explosion, on the spot, including a team of contractors, consultants and technical experts to supervise the works and assess the damage caused by the bombings, on the airport building, which is the second largest airport, in the Republic of Yemen, second only to Sanaa Airport.

The team urgently intervened by removing the rubbles from the venue, harnessing its equipment and machinery to implement all repairs to the affected areas without stopping, including repairing infrastructure, electrical, mechanical and sanitary works, after surveying the whole site to assess what to do during the upcoming days, in preparation for the re-operating of the airport, in accordance with international standards, to continue implementing the airport rehabilitation project, by the local pertinent authorities.
