Bahrain took part in the United Nations' celebrations of the International Day of Education yesterday by highlighting its achievements in providing quality education for all.

The world marks the occasion on 24th January of each year.

Under the leadership of His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom have championed the sustainability of educational services for all its citizens as well as foreign nationals.

It values education as fundamental human rights and a pillar in nation-building, modernisation and comprehensive and sustainable development.

This Kingdom has affirmed its permanent commitment to providing basic education in a free and compulsory manner according to Article 7 of the constitution stipulating that the state sponsors science, literature and the arts,
