MANAMA: Ongoing changes in the local regulatory and compliance landscape have boosted the need for qualified local talent, it has emerged.According to Jassim Abdulaal, managing partner of Grant Thornton Bahrain, many job opportunities have opened up for young Bahraini talent in the audit and consultancy field.The head of the local audit and advisory firm said recent developments including Bahrain joining OECD's Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, a new Personal Data Protection Law and amendments to the companies law, have increased the need for qualified local resources.Mr Abdulaal said this after Ahlia University students and faculty made a virtual field trip to the firm.During the online meeting and tour, the firm's senior partner Jatin Karia and partner Yaser Abbas spoke about Grant Thornton's Bahrain operation with 11 partners and directors and more than 130 people across two offices providing business risk, transaction, technology, business process solutions and legal services along with audit and assurance.Attendees included Ahlia University founding president and chairman Prof Abdulla Al Hawaj, president Prof Mansoor Alaali and associate professor Dr Gagan Kukreja.© Copyright 2020 www.gdnonline.comCopyright 2021 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
