Egypt and Armenia agreed on the importance of counteracting external interferences by parties who seek their own benefit at the expense of security and stability in the region, a statement by the Egyptian presidency read on Monday.

Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received Armenia's Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Cairo, where they discussed cooperation and developments in the region.
