Egypt, France, Jordan reiterate importance of halting unilateral actions undermining two-state solution

CAIRO - 3 June 2021: Egypt, France and Jordan reiterated the importance of halting all unilateral actions that undermine the two-state solution and opportunities to realize peace. This came in a joint statement released at the end of a coordination meeting between the Egyptian, French and Jordanian foreign ministries via videoconference as part of the three countries' efforts to assess the needs and mobilize resources for extending humanitarian aid to Palestinians. The statement said that the meeting contributed to pushing forward efforts of the three countries regarding a solution to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. It also pressed the need for an immediate humanitarian response to the Palestinians' needs along with preserving the sacred places in the occupied territories. The conferees renewed their commitment to realizing a two-state solution based on international law and terms of reference, noting that this solution is the only way for permanently meeting the demands of the Palestinians and Israelis.
