Egypt should strengthen cooperation with international partners to fund development ventures, Sisi says

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has called for increasing cooperation with international financing agencies to achieve development in various state projects, especially the national project to develop the Egyptian countryside.

El-Sisi's directives were made during a meeting held on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.

El-Sisi was briefed on the latest efforts exerted by the Ministry of International Cooperation to maximise cooperation with partners and international financing institutions in various national development projects.

During the meeting, Al-Mashat reviewed the efforts with international partners to mobilise support for the major development projects that are currently underway, the statement added.

The minister also touched upon the proposed action plan for expanding projects to support rural communities and women, including determining the activities that would be implemented there and the required funding.

The Egyptian government has been working to improve living conditions for millions of people in the country's poorest villages, with a total cost of over EGP 500 million (around $32 million).
