Egypt to establish new authority to improve vocational training, technical learning

Egypt is set to establish the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality Insurance in Vocational Training and Technical Learning, the Ministry of Planning announced in a statement on Monday.

The ministers of education, workforce, planning and economic development discussed the establishment of the authority in a meeting held on Monday.

During the meeting, Minister of Education Tarek Shawky said the new authority will improve technical learning and will apply the German accreditation to pave the way for scaling up the technical learning quality, in addition to providing a chance for the technical learning alumni to obtain job opportunities abroad.

Workforce Minister Mohamed Saafan said that the authority will contribute to providing trained and skilled labour consistent with international standards in order to meet internal and external market requirements,
