Egyptian business tycoon Mahmoud Al-Araby passes away at 89
CAIRO – 9 September 2021: Co-founder of Al-Araby Group Mahmoud Al-Araby passed away on Thursday at the age of 89, the group announced in a Facebook post. Al-Araby’s funeral will be held after the Friday prayers in Al-Araby Mosque in Ashmoun, Menoufia. Mahmoud Al-Araby was born in 1932 as part of an indigent family in Ashmoun. His father passed away while Mahmoud was in a young age. Mahmoud Al-Araby then moved to live in Cairo and worked as a salesman in a small shop for stationery. Eventually, he turned to become the co-founder of one of the largest business entities in Egypt.
