Egyptian president, Siemens CEO examine final agreement on High-Speed Train

CAIRO – 14 January 2021: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received on Wednesday President and CEO of Siemens AG Joe Kaeser and his deputy Roland Busch to examine the final agreement on the High-Speed Train project linking Alamain and Ain Sokhna.

 

The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Transportation Kamel al-Wazir.

 

The presidency's statement indicates that the total length of the railroads to be extended within the project is 1,000 kilometers, and that the total cost is LE360 billion.

 

The line stretches from Alamein located on the coasts of the Mediterranean and Ain Sokhna lying on the shores of the Red Sea passing through the New Administrative Capital. The project consists of 15 stations, and will be accomplished over two years.
