Egypt’s PM: Gov’t strives to achieve high growth rates amid current challenges

CAIRO, Oct 20 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the government is working hard to achieve high growth rates amid extraordinary challenges including a two million approximate annual increase in population. During a meeting here Wednesday with Vice President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Allain Pilloux and his accompanying delegation , the premier lauded strong partnership ties binding Egypt and the bank. Madbouli voiced hope that the new EBRD-Egypt 2021/2026 strategy would further contribute to realizing Egypt's development goals. He also said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi places the acceleration of the implementation path of developmental projects that would help ameliorate citizens' lives as a top priority. For his part, Pilloux said his visit to Egypt is meant to probe the banks' 2021/2026 strategy pertaining to carrying out projected development ventures in the country. Minster of International Cooperation Rania el-Mashat took part in the meeting.
