Apple is broadening its bid for a slice of your spend—and not just by getting you to make a one-time purchase of a new iPad or Apple Watch, but by persuading you to sign up for its upcoming Apple One services bundle. 

he news of this $9.99-and-up monthly option—sandwiched in an online event Tuesday that also launched the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, eighth-generation iPad, and fourth-generation iPad Air—shows Apple elbowing deeper into competition with the likes of Google, Microsoft, Spotify, and others for a wedge in our digital-operating-cost pie charts.

As with many of those rivals, Apple One will leave subscribers to choose from a
