JCC calls for delivery services to be expanded – Roya News English

The representative of the foodstuff sector in the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Raed Hamadeh, called on the government to expand the umbrella of home delivery services to include commercial centers, vegetable stores and bakeries.

In a press statement Saturday, Hamadeh stressed the importance of including these sectors within home delivery services to reduce congestion and gatherings in the markets, especially during the last hours before curfew.

Hamadeh said that the markets have become noticeably crowded before the start of the curfew due to insufficient working hours, which causes overcrowding to occur, especially with the approaching month of Ramadan.

Hamadeh explained that home delivery services are considered a solution that reduces crowds and the spread of the virus, while providing the opportunity for citizens to purchase all of their needs easil.

Hamadeh indicated that responding to this demand also contributes to reducing the losses incurred by establishments due to curfews and lockdowns and preventing the closure of those establishments, thus preserving the stability of Jordanian employment.

He also renewed the demand to extend the hours of home delivery services during Ramadan so that citizens can purchase necessary items, which will positively impact the sales of stores.
