Ban on bringing Filipino workers to Kuwait lifted – ARAB TIMES – KUWAIT NEWS – Arab Times Kuwait English Daily

KUWAIT CITY, April 14: The Head of the Federation of Domestic Labor Offices, Khaled Al-Dakhnan, has announced a ban on bringing Filipino workers to Kuwait has been lifted, after months of meetings and negotiations between the federation and the competent authorities. Al-Dakhnan told Al- Seyassah daily it is assumed that the recruitment of Filipino workers will start from next week and Filipino embassy begins to process the workers' contracts. Al-Dakhnan feels the recruitment of Filipino workers will ease the domestic worker crisis slightly, and pointed out, “We are still waiting for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia, which will solve the problem of the 70 percent shortage of domestic workers.”

He pointed out all domestic workers' offices must adhere to the 890 Kuwaiti dinars price set by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
