Berri, Borrell discuss prevailing Lebanese situation: Obstacles to government formation are purely internal

NNA - House Speaker Nabih Berri met today at Ain El-Tineh Palace with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Ralph Tarraf.



Talks centered on the Lebanese situation with its ramifications and repercussions, particularly the government crisis.



Speaker Berri provided the European delegate with a detailed explanation of his initiative aimed at overcoming the governmental crisis, the stages it has crossed and where it stands today, stressing that "the obstacles that prevent the government's formation are purely internal."



The Speaker also outlined the reform laws endorsed by the Parliament and what is underway in this context, to keep pace with the forthcoming government in its expected reform and rescue mission.
