AGU participates in AAHCI meeting, reviews its expertise during Covid-19 pandemic

The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has participated in the Association of Academic Health Centres International (AAHCI) meeting, which was recently held through audio-visual means of communication.

Held under the theme "AAHCI Initiative to Achieve International and Trans-Regional Cooperation“, the meeting was attended by representatives of prestigious universities and educational institutions in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North and South American continents.

Representing the University at the meeting was the Dean of the College of Medicine and Medical Science (CMMS) Dr Abdelhalim Deifalla, who reviewed with the attendees AGU's experience in dealing with the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The attendees discussed ways to overcome the challenges that resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic through the creation of non-traditional educational and training methods, and the strengthening of cooperation and the exchange of distinguished experiences among academic health centres.

The meeting comes to implement AAHCI's vision to improve health and wellbeing through active leadership of academic health centres, as the Association has endeavoured, since its inception in 1969 as a non-profit organisation, to enhance the ability of its members to educate the next generation of health professionals, conduct biomedical research and provide care to patients.
