Middle East Business: EGA’s Walid Al Attar to step down after 37 years – Gulf Digital News

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the largest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas, today (December 15) announced that its Chief Commercial Officer Walid Al Attar will step down after 37 years of service to the company.

Calling Al Attar as the architect of the marketing strategy that made EGA the biggest ‘premium aluminium’ producer in the world, EGA in a statement said he will continue to provide his expertise to EGA as a Senior Advisor to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdulnasser Bin Kalban.

Adel Abubakar, Chief Marketing Officer since February this year, will now report directly to EGA’s CEO, the statement said. Abubakar has worked for the company since 2006, including spending almost a decade in the US building EGA’s North American business. Abubakar will also assume responsibility for EGA’s Casthouses, it added.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, CEO of EGA, said: “Walid Al Attar is a titan of our company and industry, and I thank him for his immense contributions to EGA over almost four decades of service.
