This was done following extensive discussions and approval of the joint committee report between the State Council and Majlis Al Shura.

Muscat: The State Council forwarded to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the draft of value-added tax law (VAT) referred by the Council of Ministers as a matter of urgency, with the opinion of the two Councils. This was done following extensive discussions and approval of the joint committee report between the State Council and Majlis Al Shura that studied the review of the observations received concerning the draft law.This came during the eleventh ordinary sitting of the first annual session of the seventh term of the State Council, headed by Dr.Badria Ibrahim Khalfan Al Shihi,Vice Chairperson, in the presence of the Council members
