COVID-19 vaccine expected to boost Dubai economy – Dubai Economy

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai is expected to witness a 4% year-on-year (YoY) growth in consumption and demand levels in its household consumption sector during 2021, the Dubai media office reported.

Dubai Economy department forecast a major boost in the emirate's economic activities following the launch of the free and extensive coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination campaign.

The COVID-19 pandemic had greatly affected key economic sectors, including residency services, restaurants, and conferences and exhibitions.

These sectors are expected to recover as a result of the positive outlook brought by the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dubai's authorities have launched the vaccination campaign with several stages, giving the priority to the most vulnerable groups until the end of March 2021.

To begin in April 2021, the second phase will target all community members, with the goal of vaccinating 70% of the emirate's population by the end of 2021.
