Dubai shuts 4 businesses, fines another for violating COVID-19 rules

The Dubai Municipality closed four establishments and fined other four on Saturday, while 25 received warning notices for their failure to comply with the precautionary and preventive measures against COVID-19. This was during field visits carried out by the municipal inspectors who visited 194 establishments of which 161 were found meeting the public safety requirements and fully adhering to the preventive measures. Generally, the rate of commitment to the precautionary measures of the visited establishments reached 98 per cent, the Municipality said. Dubai Economy said that during the month of February, 10 businesses were closed, 93 were warned and 246 were fined for not following precautionary measures set to limit COVID-19. Dubai Economy emphasizes on the importance of following the measures and report any violation. In February, the authorities have issued fines up to Dhs50, 000 to multiple entities for breaking COVID-19 rules. Dubai Police fined two yacht operators, desert camp organisers and a private party organiser for COVID-19 violations. The health experts have issued rules and regulation for holding social gatherings in the UAE. The officials said people should not hold social gathering of more than 4 people without facemasks.
