Etihad ESCO signs agreement to retrofit Dubai Maritime City’s facilities

UAE - Mubasher: Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad ESCO), a subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has entered into an agreement to retrofit buildings at the facilities of Dubai Maritime City (DMC), DP World's purpose-built maritime centre.

Under the agreement, modern air conditioning, lighting, and thermal insulation solutions will be installed at the DMC's facilities, in addition to the installation of three cooling systems, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the air exchange unit control system will be modified by installing smart valves and replacing the triple valves with dual ones and a number of air conditioning units with modern energy-saving units.

The project is expected to save 729,373 kilowatt-hours annually, representing 20% of the total consumption at the DMC facilities.

Commenting on the agreement, the CEO and Managing Director of DP World, UAE Region, Mohammed Al Muallem, said: "We are certain that the implementation of practices that comply with the Green Building programme by the Government of Dubai, will help us save costs, showcasing our concern for the greater good of the environment and strengthening our contribution to the Emirates Green Agenda 2030."
