Moro Hub, Huawei ink deal to build Phase 1 of MEA’s largest solar-powered data centre – MEP MiddleEast

Moro Hub (Data Hub Integrated Solutions LLC), which is a subsidiary of Digital DEWA – the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has signed an agreement with Huawei to build the largest solar-powered Uptime TIER III-Certified Data Centre in the Middle East and Africa at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The new sustainable, carbon-neutral green data centre will use 100% renewable energy with a capacity exceeding 100 megawatts (MW), making it the second solar-powered green data centre in Dubai launched by Moro Hub.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the managing director and chief executive officer of DEWA, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, and the president of Huawei Middle East, Charles Yang, and was signed by the vice chairman and Group CEO Digital DEWA, Marwan Bin Haidar, and the CEO of Huawei UAE, Jerry Liu.
