Prosecutors highlight penalties for breaking UAE food safety laws
Penalties for handling food that is adulterated, harmful to health, or spoilt have been clarified in a tweet from the Public Prosecution Office.
The tweet aimed at food industry and hospitality professionals comes as eating out and iftar dining is changed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Food safety laws dictate fines of no less than Dh100,000 for whoever trades, at any stage of the food chain, in adulterated, harmful to health, or spoiled food.
