The young children were also introduced to the various facilities and amenities at the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre.

Young girls and boys from Sharjah Children, an affiliate of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, were taken on a fascinating virtual trip to the Roman-inspired Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, via the Zoom platform.

The eastern enclave's newest cultural and architectural landmark is situated at the foot of 'Al Sayed' mountain and overlooks the Khorfakkan beach.

Organised jointly by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) and Sharjah Children, the tour enabled the young visitors to explore the vast, open-air venue which can accommodate 3,600 people and offers panoramic views of the stunning Khorfakkan corniche.

During the virtual visit, detailed explanations on the imposing stone façade's architectural highlights including its tiered-seating arrangements and its use of columns, domes, and arches, were offered to the children. They also listened to the story behind the landmark 190,000 sqft amphitheatre and how it came to be built.

SGMB's virtual tour aligns with the UAE's ongoing preventative measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. It also reflects on the shared vision of
