Sokovo partners with Dubai Industrial City to build vertical farm

Sokovo has signed an agreement with Dubai Industrial City to build an indoor vertical farm to foster the UAE's innovation-driven food security strategy, the Dubai media office reported. With a plot size of over 100,000 sq ft, the environmentally friendly hydroponic farm will produce thousands of tonnes of leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables per year. The facility will be built with a retractable sunroof to maximise natural light and cut electricity consumption, alongside rotating seven-meter-tall towers to ensure that all the crops get equal exposure to natural sunlight. Meanwhile, the facility will be featured with state-of-the-art processing and sorting equipment to sanitise and pack the products and create a fast and efficient delivery system.
