Dubai Economy fines 10 businesses, warns 11 for flouting Covid-19 guidelines

As many as 10 commercial establishments were penalised for non-conformance to Covid-19 guidelines.

Of these, eight were fined for employees' lack of commitment to wearing masks and two for breaching physical distancing guidelines.

The violating establishments included four gyms in Nadd Al Hamar, which were fined in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, in addition to six retail outlets in various shopping centres.

Another 11 were also warned for not placing the physical distancing stickers, official news agency WAM reported.

These actions were a result of 664 field visits and tours conducted by teams from the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) Sector in Dubai Economy, across open markets and various shopping centres within the emirate on September 29.

Overall, 643 shops and commercial establishments were found compliant with the precautionary measures.
