Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the 40th edition of GITEX Technology Week being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 6-10 December.

Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, "During my visit to GITEX today... the world's largest technical exhibition in its realistic presence in 2020... technology led the world in 2020 and saved it... and technology is led by Dubai in the region... and the region has begun its economic recovery across the Emirates and will continue with the beginning of 2021 and up“¦“

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of the technology sector in transitioning to the future, adding that focused efforts are required to generate innovative technologies that can tide over the challenges posed by the pandemic and revitalise humanity's journey of progress.
