AGU participated as a member of Shaikha Fadyah Al Saad Al Sabah Scientific competition

Associate Professor of Geographic Information Systems and Environment at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Dr Sabah Aljenaid participated as a member of the 2019-2020 Shaikha Fadyah Al Saad Al Sabah Scientific Competition's jury panel. This GCC-based competition is one of Al Saad Foundation's activities supporting knowledge and scientific research, which was established in honour of the legacy of Kuwait's late Emir, Shaikh Saad Al Abdullah Al Salim Al Sabah, according to a Ministerial Resolution No. 111 of 2009. The Foundation aims to be part of several initiatives such as the human development process, promoting women empowerment through providing consultations, studies, training, as well as organising educational conferences and seminars in the field of sustainable development. Moreover, it aims to encourage competitiveness by organising scientific competitions and granting scholarships to the winners from Gulf countries and the Arab region. The Foundation also adopts the distinguished scientific projects to encourage innovative scientific projects. Shaikha Fadyah Al Saad Al Sabah Scientific Competition was established in 1999 in Kuwait, and branched out into the rest of the Gulf countries in 2011.
