A research team from AGU presents the results of a study on “The Reality of Integrating Students with Disabilities in Gulf Schools“

An academic team from the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) presented the results of a survey study on “The Reality of Integrating Students with Disabilities in Public Schools in the Member States of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States”. This study was prepared by a research team consisting of Dr. Maryam Isa Alshirawi, Dr. Mansour Sayyah, Dr. Abdullah Al Samadi, and Dr. Wid Hussain Daghustani, and was based on a previous agreement between AGU and the Gulf Arab States Educational Research Centre. The results of the study were presented during a recent seminar organised by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) under the title “Integrating Students into Public Schools”, which was conducted using visual communication technology. The study aimed to monitor and identify the reality of integrating students with disabilities in public schools that are in the member states of ABEGS. The study monitored the indications and manifestations of the member states' interest in pursuing the achievement of inclusive education in accordance with one hundred and seventy indicators that were distributed into sixteen criteria, which represented the basic international standards for inclusive education.
