75-year-old Jordanian who left education 55 years ago is awaiting school results to continue higher studies

A 75-year-old Jordanian senior citizen named Jamal Abdullah Hamad Al Qarala is awaiting the results of the high school exams, which ended mid of July.

Al Qarala is determined to continue to higher education if he succeeds.

Al Qarala stated that he had abandoned education for 55 years before deciding to return to home schooling when he found himself the only without an academic certificate among his family members.

Al Qarala, who is from Liwaa A'iy, Karak southern province, said, "I was performing well when I abandoned education on the sixth grade, due to life hardships.

However, I remained dreaming to resume my education, and finally I did it and now I'm waiting for results of the high school exams."

Al Qarala did well when he returned to study two years ago when subject to the assessment fixed by the Jordanian Ministry of Education for those wishing to resume education after a long absence.

He achieved remarkable score that qualified him to the tenth grade. He continued and completed the 12th grade and now is awaiting for the results of exams which ended a week ago
