QPO, Sherbone Qatar’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ now on YouTube – The Peninsula

After a long wait, the “Peter and the Wolf” recreation of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) and Sherbone Qatar has finally been released and is available to stream on video sharing platform YouTube.

“Peter and the Wolf” is a symphonic fairy tale for children written by Sergie Prokofiev in 1936. The orchestra plays a “theme” that symbolises each character in the story, accompanied by a narrator (a student from Sherbone) that tells a children’s story.

The over 28-minute video is aimed to introduce children to the individual instruments of the orchestra using different art forms, said QPO’s Merve Kenet Bulun, who is leading the project along with Razwan Sarwar, Head of Music at Sherbone Qatar.

“As a world-class orchestra and organisation, one of our missions in Qatar is to educate the young generations about the music which is the most powerful art, and a common language in the whole world,” Bulun told The Peninsula. The musician is a violist from the orchestra and founder and director of CineMoon Ensemble, member of QPO.
