Over 450 students with disabilities are back in school

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The special education departments of the “Children with Disability Association” centers received more than 450 students, with the start of the new school year in public education schools. The senior special education specialist Professor Nouf Al-Salem confirmed that the child receives an educational program according to his age and abilities. The education departments aim to rehabilitate the students by motivating their linguistic, cognitive, social, motor skills, and self-help skills. The Executive Director of the Society Dr. Ahmed Al-Tamimi said that all the centers’ departments and units have completed all preparations to receive their children’s employees. Dr. Al-Tamimi also said that the therapeutic and special education departments have been developed and updated to suit the needs of children with disabilities. He noted that the association has implemented an integrated plan to update the tools and mechanisms of the policy of providing educational services in all its centers. Al-Tamimi indicated that this required a radical change in the traditional approach of its educational programs to suit this category of children.
