KHDA announces change to school starting age in Dubai

The authority has announced a delay in the starting age for kids in Dubai private schools The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced a revision in the minimum age for children starting school in Dubai, made according to the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) Resolution no (24). Announced on 23 February 2021 on the KHDA social media channels, the changes mean a child must now be three years old to be enrolled in FS1 (or pre-KG), and four years old to be enrolled in FS2 (KG1) at the start of the academic year. Previously, for schools with academic years starting in September, it was possible to start school in FS1 or pre-KG at the age of two, if the child would turn three by the end of December that year. According to the KHDA, children enrolling in FS1 or Pre-KG in schools starting in September must be three years old on or before August 31 of that year. Children enrolling in Pre-KG in schools starting in April must be three years old on or before March 31 f that year. Children enrolling in FS2 or KG1 must be four years old on or before August 31 for schools
