AB UAE Forum: Partnerships key to developing edtech for budget-challenged schools, GEMS leader says – Arabian Business

Collaboration among private companies and schools could play a key role in accelerating the adoption of education technology, an official at UAE-based GEMS Education said.

Although Covid-19 has pushed the education sector to innovate, there is still an investment gap, Baz Nijjar, who heads GEMS’ edtech efforts, highlighting the importance for businesses to pursue more meaningful partnerships with schools.

“There is a number of different ways (for businesses) to partner with schools,” he said at a panel session in the ongoing Arabian Business UAE Forum, adding how businesses should demonstrate creating value for students’ learning journey, instead of expecting traditional tangible returns.
