Tamkeen announces doubling of its financial grants available to businesses operating in most adversely affected sectors

Following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the Labour Fund 'Tamkeen' announced the doubling of its financial grants available to businesses operating in most adversely affected sectors, and has increased the reach of its Business Continuity Support Program to maximise the number of beneficiaries.

HE Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Tamkeen, reaffirmed that the directives issued by HRH the Crown Prince come as part of Bahrain's comprehensive efforts to minimise the social and economic impact of COVID-19.

The Business Continuity Support Program will partially cover the operating expenses of small and micro enterprises to help qualifying enterprises ensure their business continuity and better manage their recovery planning during these unprecedented times.

To achieve its goals, Tamkeen has developed an operational plan for the efficient allocation and delivery of funds, with conditions and deadlines set to be announced soon.

Tamkeen's Business Continuity Support Program has expanded its scope from initially supporting small and micro enterprises to include taxicab drivers, public transport, and bus drivers, driving instructors and kindergarten and nursery workers, benefiting 15,600 companies and 900 Bahrainis to date.
