The businessman in the Manama old market, Mr. Mahmoud Al Namlity, said that the Corona pandemic paralyzed the commercial movement almost entirely at more than seven thousand commercial stores in this market. He added that many of those stores have already closed after accumulating the losses and their inability to fulfill their financial obligations, especially in the summer season, as there is no hope that life will return to this historic heritage market shortly.



Al Namlity called for providing a financial stimulus package for the Manama old market shops, saying that small amounts of support can save many Bahraini merchants and help them to stand firm in the face of the crisis and to pay even a tiny part of the rent entitlements, workers' salaries, fees, and EWA bills.



He stressed the importance of the support provided by "Tamkeen“, to institutions in the private sector, noting that "Tamkeen“ extended this support to the owners of the most affected institutions in various sectors such as restaurants, tourism offices, and training institutes, noting that this support contributed to protecting these institutions from bankruptcy.



"However, most of Manama old market's merchants were unable to obtain Tamkeen's support for several reasons, including the lack
