EGX starts week in green, market cap. gains LE 3.9B – Egypttoday

CAIRO - 26 July 2020: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started the week in green, adding LE 3.9 billion tomarket capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.

Thursday, July 23, was an official holiday on EGX on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the 23 July Revolution. 

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.62 percent, or 64.53 points, to close at 10,524.45 points. 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.89 percent, or 15.76 points, to end at 1,795.3 points. 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.40 percent, or 20.95 points, to close at 1,515.42 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.38 percent, or 31.55 points to 2,319.13 points. 

Market capitalization gained LE 3.9 billion, recording LE 580.49 billion, compared to LE 576.54 billion in Wednesday's session.

The trading volume reached 305.07 million shares, traded through 35,680 transactions, with a turnover of LE 968.4 million. 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 72.89 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 52.75 million, and LE 20.14 million, respectively. 

Egyptian and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 2.39 million, and LE 2.93 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 1.18 million.

Foreign organizations sold at LE 69.97 million, while  Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 55.15 million, and LE 18.96 million, respectively. 

General Company for Land Reclamation,Development & Reconstruction, Delta Construction & Rebuilding, and Marsa Marsa Alam For Tourism Development were top gainers of the session at 9.82percent, 9.80 percent and 9.15 percent, respectively.
