Is Amazon Coming To A J.C. Penney And Sears Store Near You?

Reports have surfaced that Amazon (AMZN) is in talks with Simon Property Group (SPG), America's largest mall owner, to bring Amazon to J.C. Penney and Sears stores. According to the WSJ, Amazon would use the facilities as distribution hubs.

Such a move would represent the final chapter, at least symbolically, in Amazon's dominance over many old guard retail stores. J.C. Penney Co. Inc (JCP), and Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLDQ) struggled for years to stay relevant as retail sales moved online, to dollar stores, and to other box box stores. Both have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
