MSX index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3, 842. 13 points, up 0. 18 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0. 15 per cent at 546. 95 points. Dhofar Insurance, up 7. 36%, was the top gainer while Ominvest, down 1. 94 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of National Bank Oman were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Ominvest Bond were most active in terms of turnover. A total number of 882 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR6 million, with more than 25 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded stocks, 17 advanced, 3 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR75, 000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR61, 000 followed by local investors for OMR14, 000 worth of shares. Financial Index closed at 5, 922. 21 points, up by 0. 35 per cent.
