Oman observes ‘Al Isra’a Wal Miraj’



The Sultanate of Oman is observing 'Al Isra'a Wal Miraj', which falls on the 27th day of the month of Rajab, the seventh month in the Islamic calendar, today (Thursday) and the message of the day is pertinent to all times of humanity, as is said by scholars.Islamic belief says that 'Al Isra'a Wal Miraj' is the night on which Allah Almighty took Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on a spiritual as well as a physical journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to heaven during AD 570–632, where he was to witness a slice of the reflections of what human beings did on earth and how they lived in the world.Shaikh Abdurahman, a scholar of Islamic Sciences quotes the Holy Qur'an saying, "He who brought down the tranquillity in the hearts of the believers to increase faith with their faith and God the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Knowing, Wise" [Al-Fath: 4].It is the night journey and ascent of the Prophet, and the revelation of Salat that are coinciding with the night and within Islam, it signifies both a physical and spiritual journey.
