UAE investors feel optimistic about region's economy in 2021 – UBS survey


UAE - Mubasher: The investors in the UAE are optimistic about their regional economic outlook and the equity markets for 2021, according to UBS’s new Investor Sentiment survey. The survey of UBS, a financial advice and solution provider, included 4,000 investors and business owners across 14 markets globally, who were surveyed in late December and January. The survey showed that 85% of investors in the UAE have a positive economic outlook for 2021 after the coronavirus (COVID-19) had negatively affected it in 2020. A majority of 51% of the investors expect a resumption in normal business activities before July 2021, while 49% forecasts that life will not return back to normal until the second half (H2) of 2021.

Globally, 60% of those who are surveyed feel optimistic about their region's economy in the upcoming 12 months, compared with 55% three months prior. The President of UBS Americas and Co-President of UBS Global Wealth Management, Tom Naratil, said: "The decade ahead will present new opportunities, while geopolitical, economic and social challenges will remain."
