DFM down on Wednesday; market cap loses AED 1.34bn

Dubai - Mubasher: The general index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) dipped by 0.69% or 14.56 points at Wednesday's close to reach the level of 2,083.31 points.





Market cap value declined by AED 1.34 billion on a daily basis, recording AED 295.53 billion. Meanwhile, a total of 250.74 million shares were exchanged via 3,377 transactions at AED 190.97 million.





The real estate and consumer staples sectors retreated by 1.60% and 1.52%, while services and banks fell by 0.82% and 0.59%, respectively. The investment and financial services sector rose by 0.57%.





Arabtec Holding headed the fallers with 5%, whereas Ekttitab Holding led the risers with 8.28%.





Union Properties led the trading activity through the exchange of 93.96 million shares, while Emmar Properties registered the highest turnover of AED 28.35 million.





The leading stocks of Emmar Properties and DXB Entertainments closed down by 1.79% and 1.65%, respectively.
