DFM extends losses at Thursday’s close

Dubai - Mubasher: The main index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) inched down by 0.05% at Thursday's close to reach the level of 2,082.19 points.





A total of 290.01 million shares were traded via 3,176 deals at a turnover worth AED 183.31 million.





Moreover, the market cap value hiked by AED 290 billion, settling at AED 295.82 billion today from AED 295.53 billion a day earlier.





The investment and financial services sc went down by 0.39%, followed by the services and banks sectors with 0.17% and 0.05%, respectively. However, the consumer staples sector gained 1.55%.





Al Salam Bank - Sudan led the decliners with 4.69%, whereas Arabtec Holding headed the gainers with 3.71%.





Union Properties led the trading activity on all levels after trading 171.38 million shares at a turnover of AED 47.84 million.





As for the blue-chip stocks, Shuaa Capital closed down by 3.77%, whereas DXB Entertainments closed up by 1.68%.
