PROJECTS: DIFC’s Gate Avenue earns LEED Gold certification

Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) said on Tuesday that its Gate Avenue project has been awarded the US Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold accreditation.DIFC said the 286,000 square feet Built-Up Area retail development was awarded the sustainability certification "for successfully fulfilling the prerequisites and credits across nine measurements for building excellence from integrative design to human health to material use."The LEED consultancy services for the project was delivered by AESG."Gate Avenue has already achieved a 24 percent reduction in energy consumption and a 55 percent reduction in water consumption," according to the DIFC statement.(Writing by Syed Ameen Kader; Editing by Anoop Menon)([email protected])Disclaimer: This article is provided for informational purposes only.
