UAE announces exemption from financial fines for expats

The United Arab Emirates has announced an exemption from all financial fines related to identity card and work permits for all violators of the law on entry and residence of expats until the end of this year.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) said: "The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship announced the extension of the period of exemption for "all violators" of the Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners until the end of the current year - December 31, 2020 - when their violation occurred before the first of last March."

"Exempting them from all financial fines related to identity card and work permits and canceling all administrative restrictions provided that they leave the country," WAM added.
