Bahrain’s cabinet has backed Five-year health plan

Bahrain's Cabinet has backed a five-year plan to develop evaluation and accreditation procedures for hospitals and health centres. The Cabinet, at its regular meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, approved a memorandum from Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh in this regard. The memorandum emphasises the creation of an ongoing, open and constructive partnership between the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) and health institutions, which will lead to more competitiveness through the implementation of the best international practices in excellence in the sector. NHRA chief executive Dr Maryam Al Jalahma said that the procedures will raise the quality and efficiency of health services in the kingdom. She said the plan includes setting a timetable for the next five years covering all health institutions. The accreditation will be for four years instead of three with an annual follow-up in line with international standards. © Copyright 2020 www.gdnonline.com Copyright 2021 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
