Innovation at its best: Bahraini girl students take top prize in MENA Healthcare and Tourism hackathon | THE DAILY TRIBUNE | KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

Students of Saar Secondary School for Girls came out with flying colours in the Middle East and North Africa Hackathon Innovation Competition in health care and tourism.

Maryam Muhammad AlSayed Maatouq, a member of the winning team, said they designed a smart application called Al-Mouhtar for the competition. The app provides patients with medical analyses, treatment history from hospitals and clinics and other related data in a single file.

“So, if a patient had to visit a hospital or clinic while travelling or after an accident, all of his medical histories are readily available at a click,” said Maryam adding, “He does not have to repeat the analyzes.” Students developed the app under the guidance of Khadija Abbas Al-Asboul, a teacher of the school.
