Reversing its decision, Bahrain health ministry asks people to register online for vaccination

MANAMA “” Bahrain's health minister on Thursday urged people wishing to take the COVID-19 vaccine to book an appointment online in advance, reversing its earlier decision.

On Wednesday, the ministry said that those wishing to take the vaccine may walk into their designated residential health centers without registering themselves online on the Health Ministry's website healthalert.gov.bh.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said that it has halted the possibility for citizens and residents to go directly to the health centers near their residence and take the vaccine without a prior appointment.

A big turnout of the people who want to take the vaccine led the ministry to announce the new measure to protect their safety and ensure compliance with the health protocols and mandatory precautionary measures, the ministry added.

The ministry reiterated its call to citizens and residents to register and get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families, and all the members of their community.
