Egypt allocated LE 14.4B for health sector since start of coronavirus

CAIRO – 6 January 2021: Total additional funds available to support the health sector in the country in its various paths nationwide since the start of the Corona pandemic and so far, have reached LE 14.4 billion, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said Wednesday.

 

Maait added in a statement, Wednesday, that the government, since the beginning of the "pandemic", has taken immediate measures to support the medical sector, as it began to procure LE 1 billion to the Ministry of Health to provide basic needs of preventive supplies, and with the beginning of the second wave, it also initiated another LE 1 billion.

 

This came during the Treasury Secretary's meeting with US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin and his accompanying delegation.
